JAMES STEPHENS

I'm a Partner and the Managing Director of Decoded Advertising, a MediaMonks agency, based in Los Angeles.

This site includes some of my favorite work from my career prior to Decoded.

I grew up in a family of teachers and coaches in Shaker Heights, Ohio

and was an English Literature major at Dartmouth College. I am a former athlete, a massive consumer of sports, music, psychology and popular culture and a very proud husband and father living in Manhattan Beach, CA.

My love of creativity is matched by my curiosity to understand the nuances of our complex world. I have career that exists at the intersection of art and science, using creativity as stimulus to understand how it inspires behaviors in different people and across different communication channels.

I like to think of my career in advertising as strategic and creative pursuit with a scoreboard for the measured impact we drive on perceptions and actions.
